The stuff that he did just absolutely amazing. And one thing I would like to clarify I did say that Callaway Cars was different from the golf company, but they were related Rees Callaway's father actually got in the golf business a few years after his son started tuning cars. He had sold off his successful textile company and a Vineyard I think and wanted something to do. So, he bought into a struggling golf company that made wooden golf clubs like they did back then and decided to create a more easyto use.

Golf Club hence the Callaway Big birth. A massive metal club that about anybody could hit hit really long drives with the big contact patch was very forgiving and started an absolute craze. I think sales went from something like 3 million before he bought it to 800 million within 5 or 10 years. Absolutely insane.

Obviously a massive Empire now, but they are related to these cars right here. Also, a big relation is Chevrolet to this. Obviously it's a Camaro and it's an old Camaro that's been sitting for quite a while. So what we're going to do today is take this up to the car.

I don't know about that I think my Viper could walk this thing I doubtful it's a it's not just a normal Z28 Camaro it's a 1995 Callaway Supernatural C8 I've heard of the Callaway Corvettes but I've never seen a Camaro Yeah well, it's not twin turbo like those famous Corvett this was sort of their next project with that same engine though 430 horsepower. The Viper was uh yeah, only 400, right? only 400 but probably way more torque I don't know about that here.

Hop in all right So a little bit more of a deeper bural on this one. Wizard, it does. It sounds a lot deeper than a normal LT1 Well, it also has a much deeper stroke. It's a 350 stroked out to 383 from Callaway I Always like a deep stroke I set you up for that.

but like you, it's also had a nose job and like you it's it's a cover girl. Oh I'm not a cover girl. You've been in magazines and newspapers and things, but yeah, that is the same car on road and track in 1995. it's uh, that is so cool.

That is the car. That's that's this car. This car. this was the two magazine cars s out for testing by Callaway That's pretty cool man.

And since it's a Z28 Fourth Gen Camaro it's great for year round driving. Unlike your viper, I had a Viper just like yours and that two p say you don't want to bother putting it on? Obviously? no I don't but it has all the Viper power. Wow I felt it break loose. Not bad, huh? No, my incisions are kind of taught now.

Oh sorry, yeah, that thing really moves. Yeah, this is probably faster than the Viper. This is about twice as fast. twice the power of a Z28 Camaro stock.

There was that one that we did years ago uh that had been sitting for a lot of years. You remember that and the fuel pump being bad and everything. Yeah, the red one and that car. It was really neat, nicely preserved.

Nice driving experience but definitely felt a little a slows side compared to Modern cars. this it does not feel slow at all W Woo! So very healthy and there's no supercharger or anything. No no, totally toally naturally aspirated and I don't think there's any issues with the drivetrain at all. Uh, the only issues I have occasionally there is an ABS light I say occasionally it's about a third of the time now it was most of the time.

my Delco stereo yeah doesn't do anything. it's dead. completely dead, right? and I know my tires are ancient, but that's something I can do on my own. Yeah, but we'll see what else you find.

They did a good job, but it was the worst surgery I've ever been through in my life I've been through about five so they they put your nose straight, fixed the deviated septum so you don't snore. What? What's this for? They did the deviated septum. They also went with knives deep inside my nose and cut away tissue way deep in there. Okay, and then down here you can see right here.

yeah, they it's kind of swollen right now, but they added some sutures and did some rearrangement of my throat muscles and things. and uh, supposed to realign the throat Valves and all that down there. Lovely. It was not fun waking up from that.

It was like an exorcist movie. like a horror movie. I just literally vomited blood straight blood all over my chest and Jenny didn't want to make a video of that? Yeah and then they have a bigger throttle body there. The Supernatural 400 got some really cool Caster engraved valve cover. Yeah, that certainly spices up the LT1 as far as the looks, but it looks like an LT1 does it have all the common LT1 stuff. the it has the same water pump.

same Opti spark same Opti spark that dies when the water pump leaks. Yeah, obviously the the brace barar going across is not stock. but the thing about Callaway is they wanted to make the cars just as reliable and stock feeling as possible so they retained everything even though they made them absolutely crazy race cars, they still had all the refinements from the factory and he would sell these with a threeyear warranty. Wow, a threee warranty which is long gone.

So if there's anything wrong, well, it's not on. Callaway Unfortunately, it's on me so but from the top it's just a Flawless Z28 huh? They they did a really good job. It looks nice I guess we could get it on a lift but I probably would like to put it on our drive on lifts cuz it's kind of tough for me right now to get down and mess with that over. Okay, yeah, I'll back it on there.

It's a threep part service and actually I didn't get this on camera but during our Drive I'd come to a stop and it was stalling out a few times. Yeah, which die clastic Opty spark? Goofiness, right? Yeah, huh? Might be time for that.

Well okay, you see all the white chalky liquid? Yes, that's probably coolant that's been blowing. uh-oh I don't know if it's coming from the water pump or what it is. Well, you'll have to inspect further or have someone else do it right? Yeah, Okay, are you ready to be pushed back a little bit more? Yeah. All right.

I Think you're right. The oil filter tight. Yeah, it's on tight. typical.

one of those got a bad seal kind of things. There's so many defective oil filters nowadays. Yep, everything else looks pretty good though. Yeah, the transmission looks really nice.

The exhaust looks yeah, good. Looks like stock cat or something it says AC Delco but the the pipes aren't stock obviously. Yeah, the headers going into a very Factory I Suppose they had to do that to be compliant with GM here. I'll push you I'll thrust you a little bit closer to it.

here. There we go. Okay, this to April Oh, she won't mind. Okay, but yeah, it's It's definitely bigger, girthier than the factory exhaust, huh? It definitely is.

It's almost girthier than the drive shaft. Looks like it has stock. General Motors Torque arm there that goes from the differential all the way to Mhm. That's all stock.

All right, we'll take you to the rear. Definitely a nice kept off the salt roads kind of car. but I See some different rear suspension stuff back here. They got some type of a link set up here.

They've got bars here. They've got a re bar in the back rear trailing arms a lot beefier. so this as much as you can make a solid axle be able to handle a turn. Yeah, I Imagine wheelhop would be a big problem too with a bunch of power, and that probably helps with it.

Yeah, yeah, so that's not worth doing anything there. The pinion seal, huh? Okay, the exhaust. Let's see what's what's this. Muffler set up here.

Don't be so rough. Okay, it is. I Can't tell the brand, but that's definitely not brand on the muffler. Yeah, yeah, They're probably allowed to do whatever they want with the uh muff, but not the emission system like the cataly inverter.

huh? yeah. and there's the uh yeah fuel tank that's way up in there. When we had the fuel pump die on that other one, it was quite a job loosening up the rear axle and letting it all hang to do it properly versus cutting a hole in the trunk. which is what most people do, right? Yeah, okay, well definitely optispark service, water pump and all that.

Figure out what else is leaking up there your radio? yeah, and check on that. ABS see if you can find anything. It might just be kind of an old car. Little Ghost in the system there, right? I'll get you back I'll get you back out sorry sorry, don't ramp so hard sorry I'll spin you back around doing it from the front's a little strange.

There we go. All right there we go. Yeah! I Know this car has been sitting for a very long time, so it would make sense the water pumps leaking and all that stuff. but no signs of any abuse or anything like that.

No, it's not surprising what we see there, but yeah, it doesn't look like it's been beat on. Looks fairly nice under there. really. how much is the big Opt spark water pump timing cover service usually I think the last one I did was like 1,200 bucks or 1,400 bucks cuz it's quite a bit of tear down and then you got to buy this distributor and the water pump and you're going to do a belt and the timing cover seals and it just starts to add up pretty fast.

Yeah so my rule of thumb when I buy a card auction 10% of the purchase price going to repairs. When you buy, buy it cuz you're buying a car you can't really test drive. you can't really inspect as closely as you would want and I'm way under that so the 10% would be about three grand. I think for everything I'm way under that.

so I think we'll be able to sort it for that around that 10% or less. Yeah, so obviously I can't complain. It is an amazing car but an amazing piece of history history as in Old so just normal old car stuff. It is a really cool car though.
