30s, a 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 convertible with the three LZ is an American Supercar We got the 670 horsepower flat plane crank 5.5 liter V8 engine. the most powerful naturally aspirated engine. All right. here we go.
There was one before the white one sold for 250.50 Come on! Uh, welcome to Hoovie's garage! The dumbest Automotive channel in all of YouTube and I'm in my 1987 Buick Grand National and we have just arrived up at the car Wizards Today's going to be a pretty intense week. But first, we're checking in with the Wizard because it got back from his Alaskan cruise check on the projects up here. But then the shippers come to get my car selling no Reserve at Barrett-Jackson So we'll head to Las Vegas in this video as well. get the cars ready to go and sell at Bear Jackson.
But first there's the car Wizard And I know he's very very happy to be back, especially with his new purchase. Yes, there it is. Wizard's new Viper What's what's he doing to his Viper um hello Wizard, are you hey um I'm just doing a little important polishing here. Oh so you're cleaning up your side pipe there? Yeah, now be very very careful if you're laying down across that because it gets very hot I Know from experience that I had a 94 Viper in red.
So is this this is a 94? Viper 94 Viper but it has the newer wheels on it from like a fourth generation. Viper Gen 3 Gen 3 Yes Yep. Very cool. I Love this car.
So cool! Well it is very very very clean. I Do think the Grand National would have it gapped at least in the first little bit it. but it probably would. but this would get traction.
Yeah, once it gets traction, it's it'll be a rocket ship. This one, right? Yeah, boy, it is nice too. It's missing the Viper logo, but it looks nice that it's all clean and blank there. I Suppose I've got one on order actually I don't know why it's missing.
It came that way. Oh okay. Well, the Grand National Um, it's having a very very long crank. long cranking time and it's uh yeah.
I You know you looked at it once and it was fixed for a day a day. You replace something because it was starting on the backup thing from oil pressure or whatever. It was right, right? It has a fuel pump relay that it basically primes and everything, but it wasn't working. It was using the backup which is the oil pressure switch we need to look into that.
It worked for a day and now it's back. I Mean it's probably a minor thing, Yeah, But while I know you've been gone on your cruise and you're back now, There has been some progress in the garage so there's some cars to pick up, right? Yes, Two of them. Cool. Well, one thing that hasn't moved is the Uh W12 PW fate and I guess it looks a little more back together than it was.
Actually it's back. They took it through a car wash and the water got somewhere I Don't know what exactly happened, but the transmission control module died. That's that silver box there I See Uh, probably not worth owning these cars so you might as well have the Bentley right? Yeah. I'd rather have the family and our friend Bills Alpha here. Yeah, you like working on this? Is it close enough to a Ferrari Not really poor? Bill Not even close. Yeah. Speaking of Ferrari, there's my uh engine still very much apart over here, still waiting on the heads. but you've ordered some parts right? The parts are coming.
I Actually paid for them today. Oh very nice. Okay, well not a lot of my cars up here. I Guess Well, there's one outside, right? Yes, your XLR which I Guess you don't need this anymore.
Do you want to be putting up for sale soon? I'm actually going to do a video on it soon. Okay, so the XLR is for sale for how much? 17 Okay, and uh, that's with all the stuff that you've done to it. This is the world's first fully restored like uh XLR It's probably got 50 Grand worth of work into it if you were billing yourself. Um, you're silly man.
Yeah, you're you're a silly, silly man. Okay, well yeah, there's the the bass boat Sparkle and all of its hideousness there. the 911 Turbo which I'll do an update on soon. but uh yeah, it's got its Safari stance.
It just needs a few finishing touches so that's not done yet. But what is done it's car number one is the S600 Yes, this S600 is done. It's second round of repairs, right, but pretty minor, right? It had a little bit of a lopy idol. Yeah, it was just a uh O2 sensor that had gone bad.
Okay, well I don't think I'm gonna be keeping this one just because I have the my box and it's sort of the same thing I would rather have the money and there is somebody that wants it. so I should probably let them have it. But uh, one car that I'm really happy to pick up that's not going anywhere up. Well, it wasn't going anywhere before was the Aston Martin It had my 2003 Vanquish the car track Vanquish had sorted in the stone uh on the lift after sitting up there for six months and it had oozed out all of its the shifting fluid.
what do you call the hydraulic fluid for the shifter? Okay, it had leaked through some. There's actually some quick connect fittings that failed and it just leaked all over until it was empty. Okay, well, was that expensive. The fittings were like two or three hundred bucks a piece.
They were very expensive. There's four of them, which leaves you with only six hundred dollars left on your in-store credit from the Citron. So if we go back to: January February the 69 Citroen you bought for me for twenty two thousand dollars? Yes, yes, and in less than six months I've gone through twenty two thousand dollars in repairs with you. There's quite a lot of cars.
I have a big list. Well, okay, but it's almost gone. the party's almost over. Yes, All right, Uh, well.
I guess I'll get out of here with the uh Aston Martin Then I'm going to Vegas and doing some some gambling. Well, I've arrived in Las Vegas At the convention center, you can see the auction's taking place behind me. Not the cars yet this is the memorabilia, the small stuff, signs, gas pumps, that kind of thing. And then they'll do the small motorcycles into well toys here. This is really tempting to get a lawnmower powered little uh T-Bucket or 32 Ford Very, very cool. but uh, now I have like last time though, selling cars here. uh, the nervousness of doing live television on history and FYI along with the nervousness of selling cars this time poor cars last time I did five cars. but uh, the four cars here, three of them are very, very expensive.
So I am big time gambling here in Las Vegas So I'm going to show you around the four cars that I'm selling. One of them is today, along with the other cool cars here in the convention center. There's about 500 cars here total, so let's get started under the ropes here and you can see my Z06 2023 Z06 3lz with a lot of options. but believe it or not, it's the second highest option one here out of three.
Z06 is being sold because obviously people are flipping these four way over their MSRP and so this is the place really to sell them at the auction to see well what they get rather than being a jerk and asking 100K over see what the audience would actually bid. The market will decide the price and that's sort of why I'm doing it here also because I really need the money. This is one of my favorite cars. best car maybe I've ever driven but they will depreciate eventually and that's what I keep telling myself in my head if I want to do it again, if I want to have another one years from now, it's a Corvette it'll depreciate.
There will only be a short amount of time when they're selling this far over their sticker, so it makes sense to get rid of it. but that's so, so sad. and I'm so so happy though. Uh, with the placement of the car.
Steve Davis is the one who puts together the docket and then they do the layout out here and obviously they have mine prominently displayed here. Right by the block, right by the salon cars if you will, the Showcase cars which includes another Z06 this one being a 70th anniversary with the Z07 package. so this one, well I suppose is the King Daddy. but personally I like my spec just a little bit better.
but you go down the line. Incredible custom convertible Corvette Ford GT Lightweight Getting crowded in here Ferrari Sf90 on the other side like a super Villagera Aston Martin Performante Huracan Very very nice stuff KR Shelby That's one thing I'm very happy with when it comes to Shelby's here in Las Vegas They usually have a great showing because their headquarters is here in Vegas So me selling mine, it seemed like a good spot once again. another KR here a 68 in Highland Green Metallic like the bullet car but uh, right down the road Here prominently displayed is my Hertz car and this is the real wild card. I Have no idea what this is going to bring. Is it more special? because it's a race car with that golden ticket to events like the Monterey historics in Sonoma or is it worth less because well, it's not a true original Hearst River Racer I Mean it's a real deal, but obviously been heavily modified as a race car. so I have no idea what this will bring. It's a total wild card. I'm not sure if you're hearing me because the block is so loud so we'll go further back and see the other two cars I'm selling.
So once again, I'm very fortunate with the placement of these cars. There's the Showcase right there. Uh, my 68 Charger isn't as special as some of those cars like myself being the Z06, but it's still so close and prominently on display here. Of course.
a really cool Survivor 68 Not the original paint, but everything else. Very, very original in this car. 440 RT with air conditioning and uh Kermit the frog's butt crack in the interior here. Very cool combination I Too Really like this car, but ever since sorting it out, getting it from Miami I just haven't driven it very much so it sort of made sense to sell really.
of the three, Classics Of course I'm selling the 66 Mustang The 68 Charger Uh, the 66 Corvette was my favorite to drive and I'm keeping it so that's actually the last Saturday car of the day. there's one selling today on Friday We'll go see it. Yes, the juice is loose in Las Vegas By 1994, Bronco is the one selling today. It's an early car about the 30th being sold.
Really good spot and boy does it look awesome with the wheels. That really was the last thing to make this thing look mint. They're a fresh refinished set on the tires I had before the paint buffed out from Van Gogh So so well. Original California Car Of course I bought this from the guy who was giving OJ theme tours with it.
What a business to have going around to all the OJ sites in Brentwood or Beverly Hills where the murder happened in 1994. sort of a wild card here. obviously not that expensive the car so not a huge gamble. but uh yeah, we'll see only have to wait about an hour or so to find out what this will bring the big ones on.
Saturday Very nervous. All right here. A 1994 Ford Bronco XLT and this XLT is powered by the 5-liter V8 engine rated 185 horsepower. This comes directly from the Tyler Hoover collection.
Here's Drew Turner You're nervous? Oh no, no, no more than that. please to continue. Music still fighting up still a long way from breaking even submitters. Let's say it's just way too cheap.
Okay I was scared for a second. There is a scary moment there was to sell for six. All right, that'll do well. That's definitely a nail biter of a moment with the Bronco there.
it's the next day now here on Saturday But thankfully it did bring enough money. fifteen thousand dollars. but I did take a loss I Didn't bring the cars here to flip and make a profit. Maybe I'll get lucky and roll really big later. but uh, that was within the realm of reason I think for that Bronco I Bought it for thirteen thousand dollars I Sold it for 15. But you gotta keep in mind I shipped it back from California after all that funny oh Janus and then fixed it. so I spent another two or three grand there. So let's say four thousand dollars more.
So that means I was seventeen thousand dollars into it. And then there was the twenty thousand dollars total because it was three thousand dollars in fees and shipping to get it here. and the entry fee. And then there's the selfie.
So I ended up getting a little less than fourteen thousand dollars total. Uh, because of the selfie. So that's a six thousand dollar loss on the Bronco. But once again, I didn't buy it to flip and that was the market I think for the Bronco or pretty darn close to it.
so I can't be mad I Had a lot of fun. definitely 6 worth of fun with that Bronco and doing everything that I did with it. but there are three more cars going so maybe it'll all even out. So let's see.
three is a 2023. Chevrolet Corvette ZO6 convertible with the three LZ is an American Supercar We got the 670 horsepower flat plate crank 5.5 liter V8 engine the most powerful, naturally aspirated engine. All right here We go tonight. SRP tonight.
Okay, okay, foreign. Shelby GT350 H is coming across the block now. Starting line as it drew. Hertz Rent A Racer is powered by 289 cubic Xp8 engine fully built onto Group B specifications.
Here's Lot Number Seven, Seven Years 1500 s Foreign everybody through. Okay, Number 25 122 125 Where's the dog? Two thousand dollar increments. Has it been a day? Is it around taking location V8 Engine features four barrel carburetor Factory rated at 375 horsepower features 150 mile an hour speedometer. Ladies and gentlemen, here's the beautiful Rt440 60 Thank you 51 3 Oh, it went backwards.
They didn't actually have a fitter in the room. Okay, there we go. There, we go. All right.
They got it all right. Well, that was a very, very interesting huh? Some of them didn't bring what I expected, but still, it wasn't a complete and total blood bath. There was some nail biter moments there, but they did eventually get up to reasonable money. But the one that's done the most probably because I didn't want to sell it the most was the Z06 Corvette I kind of had to, but also I didn't want to own a car that was going to depreciate.
It sold for 170 000 which was about fourteen thousand dollars more than its MSRP But with that buyer's premium, they pay 10 over the buyers over the hammer price. That means they paid 187 thousand dollars for. So thirty thousand dollars over MSRP is really what it sold for, Which more or less is what dealers are charging or more about fifty thousand dollars. So I come back and get basically sticker with the seller fee which you know I break even I got to own a Z06 for six months, put 900 miles on it, have a blast, and sell it and get out of it I mean that is absolutely fine I'm totally okay with it other than I kind of didn't want to sell it honestly. I would love for anybody to be able to buy a C806 if they could and this flipping with dealers could end. People are buying them. they're not the end user, they're just buying them to flip and it would be great. The people that actually want them get them and Chevy ends up making enough to where they're not flipping cars for way over their MSRP so maybe that's a sign of things to come.
Thirty thousand dollars over not that crazy. So the next one the Shelby now I did buy the Shelby for a hundred and thirty thousand dollars but it sold for 122. So once again another hit. but I didn't buy it to flip.
That was a total wild card. I Had no idea what that car was going to bring and if you think about it with the Buy higher fee, that means they paid 134 000 for it. So more than what I paid now I put a couple of grand into the car. there's the shipping.
it's three thousand dollars basically every time to ship it and enter it here in Las Vegas to get it from Kansas here and the entry fee itself. So back of the fees 112 plus what I put into it I Lost lost about twenty thousand dollars on that car I did own it for almost two years, had a blast with it, but it was a total wild card. There's no precedent for what it what that would bring. obviously I paid what I thought was a reasonable amount of money for it.
It sold for about the same amount of money. so I guess I was right about the market. but I had to bring it to an auction like this to sell it. It would have been difficult to advertise it and I don't have time to deal with all that advertising it myself at the auction.
it sold immediately I paid that fee and it's gone since I Wasn't going to be doing any vintage racing anytime soon. I guess I am totally fine with it even though it is. It is a big loss obviously. So now the 68 Charger a common theme Here I Bought it for sixty thousand dollars I put about three thousand dollars repairing it.
another three thousand dollars in to the sale. Sixty six thousand dollars into it I sold it for 63. so the buyers premium they paid almost 70 for it I get well a little less than that. so I end up losing a few thousand dollars there as well.
So I was a loser on that car. but I know I bought it right at Market I just really wanted that car and I paid what I thought was a retail number and I was right because the retail number here was a little bit more than what I paid for it, but the buyer fee it was actually quite a bit more. So all in all, I would have liked to hit on one more than what I would have paid. Hit the lottery and say the Shelby sells for 300 000. Yeah, that would have been great, but I didn't I mean that's gambling with the auction and all that stuff. and honestly, other than the Z06 which I thought would bring a little bit more, but I knew the party was coming to an end soon. I got about what I expected. so I can't be disappointed.
Actually that means I'm probably the very first person to sell their Z06 for under MSRP if I do the math what the check that I'm getting So I'm the very first person in the world to do that that is very very on brand for me. Thank you so much for watching and I'm leaning on the car I actually bought here at Barry Jackson so I'm pretty happy about it too.
That Bronco brings $25,000 easy online. Not a Barret Jackson kind of vehicle.
Just goes to show you must not modify a early Shelby GT-H. All those Z06 cars by this time next year will be depreciating because of production. Flippers didn’t do well on these . The C8 back in 2020 was a better flip mobil. But as of now no longer can say that. Even the Porsche brand is starting to get back to normal by this time next year. Lots of buy high sell low will be the motto soon. These cars are not that special as most flippers thought.
Never mind, you pulled a super model instead.
Hoovie I sent you an mail about my 70th anniversary white pear convertible awesome loaded!
Recession indicator
No way bro. You could have sold all your cars via YouTube and made better money. Even if you sold them for less than auction prices. Sellers fees are BS.
So you sold the Z06 for $170k (before commission) and paid, what? $107k? That's a healthy profit there Hoovie the flipper.
Here take my like and view I hope u get ur money back
Watching this bid was intense 😅
will be interesting to see what happens to the z06 value in the next 15 years.
The only people that made money was Barrett and Jackson
That's not a supercar. It's a sports car
So barret jackson gets 10% your wife gets 50% taxes get 30% …so you gave away a bunch of cars video
CARS AND BIDS???
Stop doing Barrett Jackson a favor even if u partner with them.
I got 9K for my XLR and I was Lucky…But I did looove that car…Leaked like a Civv …Best Caddie and Vette you can get
