Welcome to movies garage, the dumbest automotive channel in all of youtube, and a few weeks ago i listed all 40 of my cars for sale. I put a price on all 40 of my cars set up a special email and i got over 3 000 emails. Some of those prices i thought were, i don't want to sell prices quite obviously, but i got interested parties on every single car, multiple interested parties and the result is well. I sold off the majority of my cars and it was definitely the biggest cluster in youtube.
Hoovy's garage history selling all these cars, which included vast internet conspiracy theories, a bundle deal where i sold more than 10 cars to one person meeting a few people on my vacation across the country in las vegas and san diego and multiple scam. Attempts, unfortunately, including a really elaborate one, where somebody impersonated me and collected deposits on my behalf on cars, well, some cars that i didn't sell, which is really sad, so we're going to get into all that today, along with all the cars that i sold we'll visit, The car wizard as well and see some more cars that i sold, but this was a complete disaster, but there's an echo in here uh before we talk about what cars i sold and how it was a huge disaster. While i was in bed because at the same time as i posted this video freddy posted his own everything's for sale, video and added earlier done it on instagram and made a video about it, so people are thinking what is happening. Do youtubers have some kind of inside knowledge knowing something is about to crash. The exotic luxury car market is going down the tubes and they're selling, while they still can well. No, we obviously don't get insider information.
I just saw ed doing it and had some success that i decided to copy it and freddie. Well, he had the exact same idea and primarily was to unload the cars that i didn't want to keep from. My television show motor trends, car issues, which is premiering actually at the end of this month. I'm very excited for you, guys to see it we'll have some previews coming soon and i needed to sell some other cars that well.
I was ready to let go of. I didn't expect to sell as many cars as i did, especially some of my favorites uh, but they are gone and there's a few that i sold the old-fashioned way right out of my driveway, like my riptide blue escalade. That was the very first vehicle to sell to a local dentist or doctor. I believe, because i also sold my 66 mustang to an orthopedic surgeon out of denver.
He flew in late at night, came and picked up my 66 mustang, which was a very, very sad one to see it go, but then there was some kind of unorthodox sales. While i was on vacation, i went to sema filmed a few things. I guess that was work, but i met somebody there who i gave the title to on my hummer h1. I filmed the clip there.
I don't know if it's usable but uh take a look. I've sold a car to myself, not really is actually the most expensive sale and here's the title for the hummer. It's going and uh got a youtube channel and get a quick plug. Yeah does science.engineering all right plumber gone check it out for more content in the history channel booth, where i was making an appearance with a cardboard cutout version of myself, and that hummer is well still here outside.
But it's on its way to arizona as soon as a shipper shows up and then i continued off to san diego to the real part of my vacation, coronado island, the hotel del coronado 130 40 year old, beautiful hotel and met somebody in the lobby to buy My shorty sporty, my 2001 bmw 740i, with only 80 000 miles, is gone i'd plan to keep either that car or the m5 part of the bmw dream team and well. I ended up selling both because a friend of mine nolan, a local guy dentist. Doctors dennis really wanted the bmw m5, and so he bought it after i paid a 7 000 bill. Now those cars aren't going to go yet because i do need to complete the bmw dream team video series get them all together and do something with them and that's going to come probably next week, but some of the cars i sold really didn't want to go. I talked about selling that mustang well right before that showed up the heater core decided to well just let loose on it dump coolant all over the floorboard. He was flying in that evening. Couldn't really change his flight didn't have time to get there until around christmas. If he was going to come back, so i had to bypass those hoses and send him on his way that way i'll pay to have it fix myself with whatever garage he finds in colorado.
We couldn't get a heater core right away and it's not that hard to replace so no big deal there, but then the x5 i took a deposit on the 2003. X5, 4.6 is uh with all the work being completed, and then i drove it again and something you all noticed that i just now noticed is how much is smoking out the back end and how it seems like it has valve seal or valve issues. Kind of like the alpena b7, that was a lost cause of disaster of a car i had a few years ago, and i refunded the deposit because it was such a disaster, i'm probably going to sell that thing for a huge loss like 4 500 is a Big project to somebody and we're just going to leave that one unfixed to limp through the rest of this bmw, dream team, x5s, they're, absolute total disasters. Now i've actually sold.
I think 23 cars. A lot of them are gone, but the big chunk of them went to one person. I don't have time to deal with this 23 times individually, so urination bob, my friend he bought 10 or 11 cars, and he sent me a video of eight of them. Lined up and he's already sold a good chunk of them doing well, so a bundle deal there with my suburban, my old cadillac, my 73 mercedes and the escalade truck and a few others.
Some are still being worked on at the car wizards, but 10 of the cars sold there. Now as far as all the cars that are gone like i said about 23 sold, so they're still well, 16, 17 18 still around. I just pulled them all outside for dramatic effect, so here they all are see, there's still plenty of hoopties well, some of them are going, but let's go through all these right now the subaru powered back spider is staying. It's currently storing all the blankets from the riptide blue escalade that was in there, because i would go to the drive-in movie theater with it, and we had blankets and pillows uh.
But i really wanted to keep this thing and i could have ordered another one. I had many offers to sell this car and well at my asking price, but then i would have had to wait. You know two three four years for another one and i'm just not interested in doing that, so i'm keeping it same with murcielago multiple offers. I don't think anybody wanted to give me asking price on it, but still a lot of interested parties, and it's just it's just not worth me selling. I really enjoy driving this car and i do want to keep it. That's why i kind of put a higher price on it, but still, i think, offers around 150 000 for this thing, which is good money. Just i don't want to sell it we'll head outside and unfortunately the m5 is going to a friend of mine. So the bmw dream team uh when i finish that that'll be over the z8 - is the only car in the dream team that is staying every other car is sold or spoken for.
Next to it's, the jean-claude van damme, 2001 bentley azure. A lot of people wanted it at 50, grand which i'd be the only person in the world to actually make money on a bentley azure, because there are such maintenance pigs. I bought it for 30 grand probably spent 6 7 8 000 fixing it up. But i just don't want to sell it.
It's such a good value such an incredible car, and i know whoever i sell it to it's just going to ruin their life, even though it's been pretty reliable for me since sorting it out. These things are just huge: maintenance picks the ferrari 456. Another car, i didn't realize, had gone way up in value. That was one thing i thought.
85. 000. That's i don't want to sell price, but the cheapest one with the gated manual for sale in the country. Right now is 120 000.
I paid 50 000 for this thing and then another 10 000 importing it and sorting it out, and i i can't believe i i guess these things were secrets, but they're not anymore, but i really really don't want to sell it because it has a back seat. I can haul the kids in it has a gated v12. It is a wonderful car, so i'm not selling it same with the 66 corvettes. I really enjoy this car.
I haven't had a chance to drive it very much or experience it, and even though i do have offers for well over what i paid for it, i don't want to sell it. I paid like 50 grand for this thing. People want it for 85. 000.
I don't want to sell it uh the bug eye. Sprite, though i don't want to sell this one, but somebody has been so nice emailing me over and over again uh that he has talked me out of it for 28 000, which is a few thousand more than what i have into it. A rare win for me, so i guess this one is going and it's very sad because i really didn't have much opportunity to experience this. I've been so busy with the shows and everything else.
This thing mostly sat up on a lift and i really didn't get to enjoy it, which is sad because it is so fun and i do actually fit in this car, even though it's so tiny. It's going to be sad to see this thing go if he shows up on friday, if he doesn't, he won't hurt my feelings at all the range rover that wasn't in it because it was bought after i did the video keeping that is my new driver. Since i sold the escalade and the 94 suburban uh the countach, this was scary because i listed this thing for 450 000 and i got a lot of interest and then i bring a trailer a countach one year older than this sold for a record. 510. 000. The prices on these things are just going absolutely vertical, it's insane and well. It just makes it more scary for me to drive this thing, even though i absolutely love it. But if i were to scratch this thing, it would be an entire repaint, because this pearl white paint would be impossible to match, but i'm still going to enjoy this car.
I don't want to sell it and it seems like it would be an incredible investment based on how prices have gone and the less than one year that i've owned. This thing has gone up, probably multiple, six figures in value, which it's just absolutely insane. Now the 348 is actually kind of sad. I am keeping it i'm not selling it.
A lot of people wanted it. A lot of people thought it was worth 25. 30. 000.
You all are idiots, i'm not gon na sell it for that. Several people wanted it for my asking price and unfortunately this is where the scam happened. Now, when i set up this email, i didn't think about it, i'm not very technical savvy. I barely know how to work imovie, which i learned four years ago from doing windows movie maker to edit videos.
So i'm i'm not a techie at all and i set up buy hooves car yahoo.com. Well, somebody set up buy hoovie's cars with a s at the end at yahoo.com, and if people typed in the wrong email, then they got the fake impersonator who was selling all of my cars and collecting deposits. Two that i know of unfortunately - and one of them was on this 348., a very nice man who was very excited to buy it and apparently fake hoovey agreed to a full engine out belt service before it was gon na be shipped off, and he sent a Big deposit, like almost two 2 000 on this car, and i don't want to sell it and i feel really bad for the guy and the one other person that i know of that got scammed out of 800 one. I can make up for it because i can sell the guy the car they wanted for less his deposit to make up for it.
But i don't want to get rid of this car and it's sticking around. But whoever you are that impersonated me you're, a total, dirtbag and karma will catch up to you someday. I totally believe in that being a used car dealer. I've seen it many times, but as far as other vehicles, the conversion van a lot of people wanted to buy it.
I didn't want to sell it at 50. 000. I would just go buy another one, probably a brand new one for 80 000. The hummer is going on its way to arizona.
As i said earlier, the maybach i have a deposit on it. Kind of sad people won't do their jobs anymore, and this mybach, even though i bought it from copart, it showed up with a clean texas title. They hadn't bothered the insurance company to put it salvaged, so i have to go through all the paperwork myself to make it salvage then get it inspected again to get a rebuilt salvage title in order to sell it, and somebody can register it in all 50 states. Something an insurance company just a little bit of work. They could have done themselves, but it turns into a lot of work for me because well, i'm not the insurance company. I shouldn't be doing this, but uh. You know nobody wants to do their jobs these days and the 740i sports. Well, it's on its way to san diego in the lobby of the hotel del coronado, giving me the title.
It was a reluctant thing for me to do, but it was nice to meet the seller in person and his son, who filmed it and his friends - and i know this car is going to a very good home, but i'm down to no bmws as far as Sedans, just just the z8, which i mean the z8 is wonderful. So now we'll move on i'm going to take the 66 corvette to the car wizards and check on the other cars that are getting fixed and have sold that noise and that hood too. I haven't driven this thing in months. I'm so excited to do it wizard.
I sold some cars. Oh you did like uh 23, the austin healey sprite, the m5, the z3, the mybach, the 2000 trans am the m3, the h1, the 66 mustang that hurts the 740i sports. The escalade riptide blue 94, suburban, the 88 fleetwood, the 73 mercedes and the tesla 2013 tesla, and a lot of the uh car issues, cars for motor trends, so all in all, like 23. 23.
yeah, you didn't sell that no. I did not sell that 23 cars. Wait again, why? What am i going to work on so you're mad at me for having 40, because it was stupid and you hit me and then i saw there's still plenty of cars to work on. None of the lambos are gone.
Okay, the old corvette's. Still here all right, the most expensive car i sold was the hummer for fifty five thousand dollars. Fifty five thousand dollars. I lost money.
He lost money uh, but uh yeah, but yeah. Quite a mess and uh there's still 2000 emails of people wanting to buy everything, including this i'm not selling anything else. Nothing else is going. You draw the line right there.
The line must be drawn yeah right here this far and no further right, yes, 17 cars seems seems too too many too little a little less. It's actually probably pretty good. It's less stress! You have to worry about so many different cars. I can't imagine having to think about 40 cars all the time.
It was a lot of juggling and i noticed, there's some big bills coming and some cool cars coming, but the diabolo that that that doesn't look like the new struts are on no they're, not they're. Actually out for the third time being rebuilt both of them? Yes, so what are we gon na do if this rebuild thing doesn't work on these lift struts on this diablo? This is the third try. Well, i'm not gon na mention the company. I don't want any trouble with them, but these people are the company to go to right rebuilds and they i don't know why they just can't get it right. If we do have to buy new struts that i can get a set of them, but they're eight grand each sixteen thousand dollars for two straps lift straps yeah and there's still a few other little things to go through as well. There's the noise there's this car! Well, i i take it back. I think this is the only car that i didn't get a single email on at my 390 000 price and well, i'm not doing a very good job of selling it, but it's uh. It's doing a good job of kicking.
My butt, though, that really sucks on the diabolo, but there was one other thing that was kind of annoying because i didn't go out and show the dakota rt in the video people assumed that i was selling the 8 000 mile dakota rt for five thousand dollars. Oh, no, the the one that i sold at barrett-jackson for, like 25 grand that i was selling for no it's it's! This one has 180 000 miles, but i've sold enough cars. So it's not for sale but uh what a mess wizard! What? What a cluster! I mean it is freeing to be rid of that many cars, but the scams, the tons of emails. It was fun to interact with a lot of you, but that was a lot of emails to go through and the car is blowing up.
And, oh, my goodness, i'm glad i'm not a car dealer still i i would. I wasn't good at it before and i'm not good. At now i lost money selling the cars and kept the ones that i could have made money on. So that's kind of backwards.
For business, isn't it it is, it is still the dumbest automotive channel on all of youtube. Thank you for watching you.
Money is an issue that everyone has for a better and luxurious life was hard for me until I started trading bitcoin and am now earning $ 18,435 per week
Did you sell the Mercedes that your Grandma gave you?? I loved that car and the story behind it. Congrats on selling everything else, I am happy that you keep the white Countach. Keep up the good work and having fun while doing it. God bless Brother…
Tyler Hoover can not believe that after he buys and talks about a cars attributes and the joy of owning it that its value skyrockets. Odd
Anyone else thinking he is trying to buy that amazing Mercedes that he drove at the show…?
Just be thankful that someone called car wizard about the 348 and he called you otherwise they might have got more out of it sickening behaviour.
False advertising/..you claimed you were selling everything…You kept some of the crap i would have gotten rid. Those lambos…gone…that bentley….gone… get rid of that overpriced garbage you never drive. Dude cash in while you can. Get a new wife..get a face lift…
I mean the market might crash so if you wanna start fresh now is a good a time. Car prices are up so any sane person would sell.
Who beat me to the Pimp My Ride van?
I'm honestly heartbroken my offer wasn't accepted. I had money for a vehicle for my vape shop, and I really thought this would be perfect. Would only be driven once a week, but sit on display all week.
Whoever bought it, please, use it. Don't throw it in another warehouse. Show it off.
Oh the pesky 1% problems 🙄 What to do with my multi-million-dollar car collection 🤔
Ur GREEDY HOOVIE. U MADE ALL THIS PROFIT AND U CANT SELL A SCAM VICTIM HIS 348. U could buy ANOTHER 1! Dissapointed in u.
No matter how jealous I am of Hoovie and his massive success and cool cars, he's truly the nicest guy it could have ever happened to, so I can't be anything but happy for him.
Tyler, "Everything is for sale!…… but isn't." Tyler, you need a long black couch to lay on while a professional helps you with your car issues. In the words of a famous ice queen, "Let it Go!!!"
OHHHH…it's "Euronation" Bob
Much better than Urination Bob.
If I had a used car collection like you guys then I would have sold it also. Good money to be made right now and then that allows for new content in the future.
This fker doesn’t wanna sell anything then why are you wasting our time for ? Lol
Is never sell that Lamborghini Countach that will easily be a 1m dollar car in the future those cars just keep going up it's so iconic
Can we give a big "Fuck You" to the person who tried to scam people using that impersonated email address?
For what it’s worth, I think you kept the right ones. I would have been sad to let the Mustang go. Love the Bentley but if I was repatriate one to the UK, it would have been the Bug-eye Sprite. I’d sell the Lamborghinis in a heartbeat. Would rather float in the Bentley Boat …
