Welcome to hoovy's garage, the dumbest automotive channel in all of youtube, and we've made it to half moon bay in california for the countach rally, the 50th anniversary of the countach in my 25th anniversary countach, have you all been following the videos for the last half year Since i bought this countach, it's been quite a journey to get it to this point, and i'm now surrounded by well over 20, touches to go on this rally during monterey car week, and we are going to drive down to see the new countach that they are Unveiling at the quail, this is another one of those pinch myself. I can't believe i'm doing this moment and that's because you all watch my videos and make well stuff like this countach possible. Now the drive doesn't officially start until tomorrow, but i've already driven the farthest.

I've ever been in the countach about two hours from monterey: california, where the car was shipped to here and it did really well. The car did great. My back was uh a little less than great, but these cars aren't built for comfort, they're built for speed, but they're not really fast, either they're built they're built to show off and - and they are definitely showing off here i'll - give you a little tour of the Grouping here, which represents pretty much every era of countage and then well, we'll hit the road, as you can see, there's a lot of anniversary cars which were at the tail end of the run on the countaws, the most crazy wild, looking ones with the side strikes And the wings like my pearl white, one, which is the only pearl white one here, and this red one uh but they're the most common, that's the early cars that are less common and, as you can see, off beautiful and then the two pace cars. This was the 1980 monaco pace car.

Then you have the 82 monaco grand prix pace, car right next to each other, just amazing to see these together and you have a lot more anniversary. Cars they're a lot more common, obviously, and people tend to use them a lot more, but there's just so many, probably more than it's been seen together in at least 30 years or longer, if not ever, and here they are. The thing is, though, they're only bringing one tow truck along uh with 30 or so italian cars, which uh definitely is bold. Bold, move, cotton actually a lot a little bit, there's one other support vehicle and that's this lm002.

It's going to be coming along with those hauling parts, an actual dakar rally, lamborghini lmo2 with the crazy expensive tires that look ancient. Just absolutely incredible. I can't wait to hit the road in the morning well good morning, it's time to go on the countach rally. There's already two cars that have had some problems, though unfortunately uh one had an oil line that uh busted a brand new oil line that was replaced, thankfully the upper one they were able to fix, but it was leaking oil everywhere and then another car had a Dead battery overnight and them trying to start it and jump it off flooded the car downdraft car uh fouled the spark plug, so they had to change the spark plugs.

But now all the cars are running and we are ready to go. My car is parked right. Next, to this beautiful black 25th anniversary, that's being driven by valentino balboni himself, famed lamborghini test driver, that's what he's driving what i'm driving it's just just crazy railroad may have overfilled the tank a little bit we're sitting at an angle. Well, that fuel thing was a little scary, but not a big deal.

We are now officially on the rally and moving, and i am right behind palantino in the black 25th block incredible cars behind me, including two monaco base cars that were on the road. I think all of them are on the road and going and working who would have thought look at this made it to our first stop in santa cruz. But it's interesting there's only four cars in front of me. Two of them are wounded.

One is running very, very rich and smoking a lot backfiring, the other one uh the pace. Car actually is hemorrhaging coolant. So that's a two out of four in front of me and about 20 behind they're hoopties they're very expensive cars, but they are, they are hoopties. Doing good here so far, so good where's, wood, wood, wood, wood, i believe so start at day, two, i'm inside the touch, because it's so loud here at laguna seca.

So now we get to take all of our cars out on the track and, as you saw earlier, uh the second part of the rally did not go so well. Unfortunately, the lm002 busted the coolant line and then busted the coolant line again in traffic and then two other countages went down one with uh. Well, maybe a slight fire fire extinguisher was used on it. Another one had some electrical problems.

I believe it is back on the track. Unfortunately, i don't see the pace car, the one with the lights on it either. So that would probably mean four cars. I went down the rally, but three are back so only one net down and we're going to head out on the track shortly: laguna seca, a very legendary track, the corkscrew in countaches just absolutely unreal, and then we staged for a couple of car shows and then Eventually, the quail where we will see the new countach and i have no idea what to expect i've, never driven on laguna sega before and i'm doing it in a countach.

Look at this look at this. So here's the hill. This is the legendary corkscrew. Yes, it is only in video games, but never actually gon na do it.

Oh my god. It's like a clip. Let's stop because touch pile up. Downshift hit the gas this truck so many times in video games, and now i'm doing it for really cool.

Well. That certainly didn't suck. No, no as we exit the track, it was short, but it was sweet. Well we're reunited here at the quail with john tamarion of curated, who i've uh turned down twice to uh sell my countach in my diablo, but good thing.

I kept them because i get to do all this going to the quail look at this i mean it's. It's honestly amazing having you here. Thank you, vintage teas and all thank you. I think you won the attire contest.

The only of the 29 cars bianco perlado car, just about to 19 000 kilometers interior, is really wow. It even smells dude, it smells like see. It's still got a little bit of protective plastic over by the pedal too, and you can tell the miles are real because the the the pedals are not worn yeah. No it honestly, it's a really nice car.

It actually makes me even more mad at you. Okay. Well, the market's changed in the last six months. So that's changed.

The market has changed yeah to your favor mm-hmm, oh you're, really getting into it now i'm getting into it. Okay, at some point at some point, so we got a little extra hanger on here. I'm not sure what that's for, but it's it's extra parts, oh okay, that actually perfects like a throttle yeah. It is part of throttle, but the throttle works yes and you're driving you're right, you're driving this right here.

No i'm kidding! You know what hey considering you've been driving it it's. Actually, the engine bay is really nice. Uh, zinc, coloring on all these sort of parts. These, if they've sat outside too long that zinc gets tarnished.

It goes away. You know what it's a very honest, very nice car can't be that uh critical. I have to say okay, so what's your new number, then i think we were at 225. six months ago.

You know i would add today, without even looking at the market and really going into some research, i would easily add 50 to 75 grand 300 yeah yeah. No, no! No! No! No! I can't! I can't. I can't do it. I can't do it.

If i sold the car, but i'm not, i can't do it. The fact that that car is the reason why i'm in here, which is the hottest ticket in town in monterey car week, is just incredible. The quail something three years ago, after my ferrari, burned to the ground i sat outside in my rented saturn sky roadster and watched the cars come out of wondering what a thousand dollar ticket to a car show looks like, and i can definitely see why. So i guess i'll give you a tour of some of the highlights of the quail, as we make our way over to the new countach and uh check it out.

Hopefully it doesn't suck, they have a booth wizard would like yachts, 90 million 52 million euros nuts. I miss the unveil, but there's a crowd, that'll sort of unveil it as i get through it, but you can see some of our cars made it here, including the one balboni was driving. I was right in front of earlier the black one, but let's let's go see the new counters in person there. It is no! No i'm kidding it's actually really nice, i'm a big fan of retro throwbacks.

Obviously, in this nose that is countach, it is still right. They did it right and it's the same color a little bit of a pearl metallic with a red interior. It's it's my car! This little sunroof in the middle here looks like they have it hooked up to a tinder, there's a cover there, but there's the v12 800 horsepower super capacitor hybrid, but uh, very aventador, looking in here in strata, full digital gauge, very cool cross stitch on the dashboard, But kind of the spitting image of my 89 25th.

This is so cool 2.6 million dollars, though here it is the new countage only about 110, or so it's being made 2.6 million dollars before options. So uh that's a lot of old countaches to sell before you can buy one of these, but they certainly did it right. Didn't they the same triangular door, sills carbon fiber. Let's just do a walk around.

It looks a lot like an early aventador in person. You'll see if you can get uh, you can go like that way. So it's the name of our company, so you get in the middle right there, a little challenging, walk back, we're in treatment gorgeous they actually didn't screw it up. I'm shocked, i'm really shocked.

Wow touch it peel. It work your way around it super capacitor, v12. 800 horsepower. You know i kind of thought they should have left the name dead, but now that i see it and just like that, we've reached the end of the countach rally the car made.

It it behaved, i know i'm just as shocked as you. The countach is actually pretty good and now well back to reality back home. Maybe we start assembling the dream team. Thank you for watching you.
