Nicest parts car you've ever probably seen. Huh? Oh, it's a shame to kill it though. it's too nice. Well it is a Florida car that is a little baked.

it's a bad color, but it is a 645 manual transmission. but look how clean it is I mean look I know it doesn't have any leaks, the motor's not doing the smoke thing. it's not loud. Yeah, yeah it's It's a shame to kill it.

Welcome to hubby's garage! The dumbest Automotive channel in all of YouTube And we have double the Bangle putt right here. double the trouble because of this crazy idea that I have right here with this 2006 BMW M6 Now I bought it because I thought it was the nicest surviving M6 probably in existence only 20 000 miles. This one a beautiful color, beautiful spec in general, but it was optioned unfortunately with the SMG automated manual transmission, only a few hundred people were lucky enough to get one with a real six-speed manual where you work the clutch yourself not a robot like what this has with a seven speed and it is pretty clunky. It hasn't aged that way, well, not nearly as bad as say my V12 Aston Martin Bankers from 2003, but still not nearly as good as say a Lamborghini Murcielago and the Ferrari F430.

It also has some reliability issues. This one has had its SMG pumps changed and the clutches do wear out earlier because this computer not really worrying about clutch life and such. So big problem there as well. But the M6 is notorious for having all these other problems with the engine and why I think they're still cheap even though it's not that bad in my opinion.

like I said in the last video compared to Modern cars. but one thing I want to fix first is swapping it to a manual transmission and this is where this poor thing this bangle button right here a 2005 BMW 645 comes in. it is the rare six-speed manual 645, the same transmission I would need to go in this M6 now FCP Euro does sell a kit to manual swap and M6 but you need to find your own transmission a bunch of other parts and I thought well maybe be able to find the whole car and I was lucky to find this one on cars and bids it was in South Florida so I assumed it was going to be much worse than as described even though it was on cars and bids and well it showed up and it might be too nice to be a parts car. I Feel really, really, really bad killing this thing and you'll see why.

I actually filmed this intro at my house first last week and I have a new camera and it filmed the whole thing completely out of focus where you can't make out anything. So I'm reshooting it here but now we're going to jump back to the driveway. Last week when I first got this thing and I was reacting to it more or less on how it first arrived. Thankfully I used a GoPro on a stick for that one so Old Faithful didn't mess up there.

so let's go back to that. But before we tour the parts car, I'm at the site of Hooves Garage 3.0 and I'd like to thank Shipstation for sponsoring today's video. I'm going to go take some allergy medicine and we'll start the tour now. I Don't want to be offensive, but I've had the war. Worst luck when it comes to buying cars from South Florida It seems like there's a lot of unscrupulous car sellers down there that do all kinds of things or don't disclose issues and some of the worst cars I've ever bought.

The cars that nearly ruined me before I was doing this for fun on YouTube were from South Florida So when this one popped up in South Florida and it seemed like a pretty nice car with only 67 000 miles I assumed well there's going to be a lot more issues than I thought and it's not going to be that guilty for me to completely destroy. I Also got it for an incredible price. Seemed way too cheap for what it is a 67 000 mile car for about eight thousand dollars. So I can get what I need out of it and then sell like the low mileage engine and recover my investment.

not have that much money out. But then it showed up from South Florida and it showed up exactly as described. Every issue was already disclosed like the damage to the front bumper The Faded Headlights the ruined surround for the windshield Rubber seal here. very very common with these.

Inside the seats you can see they are pretty strong, scratched up, pretty damaged, very weathered interior. it's already banging and bunging at me. and then the big sunroof which is cool. the visor flap well, it's all broken there.
So a lot of issues that are just little cosmetic but nothing stopping this thing from being a pretty good driver. Now the most common issues with this V8 are valve seals and timing chains. This one quiet timing chain and no smoke out of the valve seals which is quite a surprise. A big issue with these and well, that's nice because somebody can buy this engine.

they still sell for quite a bit of money. People do still try and fix these things. I Don't know why and be able to get another car back on the road. So this car is going to die.

I Mean it does have a lot of issues. a cracked tail light. the wheels are curved all over, just a lot of scratches and dings. little stuff like that.

It would make a pretty decent driver for someone, but it will live on as a parts car and so many other vehicles. of course. the most important part here is the manual transmission. Now this is the first year of the correct manual transmission that needs to go in the M6.

So I have everything I need I have the shifter bezel I have a binging key I have the shifter shut up I have everything I need the pedals, everything to swap the car over all of it over to the M6. Everything is on the car so we can see how it looks to swap it over I know it's been done many times this way, so I'm hoping it's an easy way to do it with the M6 and the car ninja doesn't want to kill me, but as you can see BMW beings and bongs low washer fluid in the airbag light. otherwise no issues, we have cold air. The BMW infotainment the iDrive system is working Dash is starting to crack normal Florida stuff but it works.

it's fine. The thing is though, this car is way nicer than anything that I own. Well, six seven years ago when I started Uv's garage and now I'm using this as a parts car to completely destroy it. Doesn't make any sense, but we'll see what the cart engine thinks.

There is a slight issue though because this berm over here looks way too much like a bank deliver on a dirt track. I Thought about it before I always wanted to try it but I don't want to ruin a car. But since this car is dying anyway, why don't I give it a try here. Foreign has joined the airbag lights.

you can see the check engine light has popped on. uh probably not because I just did to it, but because it's a BMW and everything was was just reset. But the only part I care about is the manual transmission. which on these BMWs this air of BMW is just so so good.

So nice. And then the only delay in shifting is how quickly or slowly you want to shift. which that's that is way faster than a BMW SMG transmission. What? I just did there.

Or when you're in traffic or just wanting to cruise lazily, you can control the clutch and make it way less clunky just just with your left foot. all right. After the weekend, the check engine light is still on and the car Ninja is in here somewhere. Ninja There you are.
How's it going? Not bad, not bad. You've had this thing on the lot for a few days now I Did not look at it at all though. Nicest parts car you've ever probably seen. Huh? Oh, it's a shame to kill you though.

it's too nice. Well it is a Florida car that is a little baked. it's a bad color but it is a 645 manual transmission. But look how clean it is I know it doesn't have any leaks.

the motor's not doing the smoke thing. It's not loud. Yeah yeah it's it's a shame to kill it though. It is a shame to kill it.

but that's what I bought it for I Just bought it way too cheap I assumed it was going to be a total basket case. It does have the airbag light and the check engine light, so it has that. It has a lot of wear on the inside, the rubber bits uh, the bumper. I've added a little bit to the bumper actually.

um, but a lot of good parts. Yeah, we can't sell the parts I was hoping you would say that, but yeah I just need the transmission stuff. Everything else you could sell, we could split the money I don't know. Whatever you think.

Yeah, definitely see the sunroof Pfizer is doing that weird thing. Yeah, it's the shade stuck inside and this is bad stains and wear. It looks better on camera actually than it does in person. but you get really close and things are, you know, kind of nasty edgy, but it's still still a pretty decent car.

This is a driver's car. Yeah, you can drive it. Yeah, well, you mind seeing what the codes are real quick. definitely because I don't think it's been hit.

It has Vin tags. It doesn't look like bolts have been turned or anything I don't see any paint work this one. they crack all the time because it's plastic and it's perfect. Seven thousand miles I Know I know, but it's a low mileage.

M6 So I wanted to get a nice transmission. Yeah, those are rare tank ventilation valve. That's it. That's it.

Well chances are that was on before and uh, they reset it right before it got sent to Kansas So you know, uh, there's maybe a little Florida in this car. How about the airbag? Because that's always been on? Oh when you bought it? Yeah. okay, okay um. airbag control module is faulty on that expensive fix.

Are we talking like a thousand? Two thousand? I probably owned a thousand? Yeah, Okay, yeah, so that's why that wasn't done exactly. Yeah, so it might be too nice of a parts car. It is nice. but I'm gonna kill it.

Made up your mind I think so. Was that a ghost over there? Oh the brooms just fall from the wind? Oh okay, all right, the broom agreed. yeah I suppose. but I did get the uh swap kit.

Oh really, it's in the box in the M6 so you wanna take a look at that boxes in here and uh, looks like they've been sitting on the shelf for a while at uh SCP Euro Yep. so this one clutch. Nice to get a new clutch I suppose Yep, although this one was perfect. Yeah, but you know, might as well do it right.
New clutch in there? Yes, indeed. All right Transmission mounts. Oh that goes on the transmission. That's where the four goes.

Oh, all right. So a lot of bits, you know what? Yeah, Oh I think the previous owner left that in there. Okay, probably. uh, some leftovers.

Super Bowl party or something like that. the the Queso dip. Oh yeah, we'll figure it out. All right.

So this is this car's last moments of life here. completely intact. Can't believe I'm doing I Can't believe I'm doing this so stupid I Hope there aren't too many of you that are screaming with rage at the screen right now for me killing that car I Promise I think it'll be worth it in the end with the M6 being a manual, but now we're gonna move on and go to the car Wizards layer because Ford of my five V12 cars are broken. The only solid citizen right now is the Lamborghini Countach That car's always been so good.

knock on knock on wood somewhere. here we go. Uh, but yeah, this is one of the other broken cars, but it's not something the car wizard can fix. It is going absolutely insane.

Take a look going in the room, come back at the light, use the right lane to merge onto Kansas 96 East Amen! So I sent this video over to Art Eag in Austin Texas The people who do the mail conversion on this 599 and he knew exactly what it was. It has nothing to do with the conversion, the cluster just sits out and bakes in the Sun and gets a little bit on the fritz. and it's just something electronically in the board in the cluster there that he can repair. So I'm going to send it down to Texas for that repair.

and while it's down there, he's going to give me the latest software for the male conversion on these things. He was going to send it up to me anyway. But I can have it all done down there. So good news is here.

Easy fix. But the other two cars. well the Aston Martin was acting like a total crazy crazy running like garbage car if it got too hot. It's not temperature wise, but just like idling in traffic.

And then there was my my buck as well. It was completely cutting out just losing. All Electronics going blank for whatever reason. so actually nothing to do with V12s, but all weird electronic things.

So let's head up to the car Wizards and take more medicine cough medicine all right at the car. Wizards in broken V12 number two and three. you're right next to each other actually. but uh, that my vodka is running I Was hoping this one is something simple.

it's running unattended or oh wait, oh sorry, were you sleeping on the job there I Was just checking out. Make sure there's no hiccups with your car here that's actually Dreaming or dreaming of your new Farm Life Oh okay, it's amazing I Dreamed of pigs and horses and all kinds of giraffes. My box, my box. Yes yes it is a very very weird Farm but uh, the Maybach is.
uh well. it was unhappy along with every other V12 car that I own. So you have three of them up here and I know it's really bad news with one of them, but was it good news with this one? Yeah. I just needed a rear battery.

That's it. So that's all it was. being really strange electronically with some hiccups and stuff. So all right.

good. All right. Well what about uh if I can get out of here? Man this thing is so nice I'm sorry about the mess I made there. Oh all right.

well anyway, um so basically best case scenario on the My Block you can shut it off right? Okay, how about the Aston Martin Because this one, it was just occasionally sort of hiccuping like it had no electrical for a second and the battery the whole thing would reset. as far as like the stereo and all the presets and things gave me a low battery warning light but this one this one actually did run like complete not or garbage at times. Yeah what we found out. yeah it's crazy the way they did it, but okay with very bad readings.

There's actually codes for those auction sensors and it was running really? Lean On One bank and making it misfire. Probably when it would run really bad for you, right? We got all four of them replaced and it runs so much better now. We also found a leak of refrigerant on the actual service ports on this thing. We fixed that we charge your AC it's ice cold again.

So were those oxygen sensors special or were they generic to something else? Okay, too bad though. there's a bill I assume Yes, Yes. All right. Well, this isn't the really really bad news.

Then the bad news is with the Ferrari 456 which is not this. It's behind there under the plastic. Yeah, the Gated V12 that had a bad head gasket. Well turned out to have a lot more than a bad head gasket.

Daniel's son, you got Bob's Ferrari engine going back in, huh? Wow. I Know he's up here cleaning and boy oh boy did he clean. How do you like Danielson's paint job there? Oh the red crinkle? Yeah, yeah, you did that. My three five five too, didn't you? Yes sir, you're an RT sir.

And uh oh, there's the there's the straight pipes going back out of it, huh? Yeah, that'll sound absolutely glorious. So okay. Well, my V12 was back together about to go back in the 456. I was going to be reunited with that car after many months, but bad things happened.

Huh? Yeah, unfortunately. So what's up? It overheated worse than we thought or so as soon as I put it all back together I had already checked them for leaks and they seem to be fine and I put it all together and the valves were leaking I did a leakage test on them and all the bottles are leaking. So if you overheated an engine really bad, you warped the heads and I suppose the next worst thing you can do is is the valve seats or something, right? Yeah, or you're really really melting down the engine right? So we actually contacted his uh, he has a contact in Florida when he used to work at Ferrari down there. Okay, he's like I think you really need to get from the overheat, which you probably should address the valve guides.
the valve seats probably shouldn't go any further. Don't send it anywhere else. send it to us. we'll take care of it.

So I see so how much am I looking at with that I thought I'll have an estimate for you but I just gotta be doing big bucks. Yeah, it's gonna be expensive, but you know what do you do? You have to fix it all right? That's right, it's all tore apart again. Yeah, we were so close. So Danielson has his YouTube channel.

He had done several videos on it I guess you're gonna get several more, huh? Well, I'm going to be updating on this. uh, on the channel. So okay, that'll be interesting. All right.

something else too. This thing has bronze valve guys like the 355. now there is not a recall or campaign for these, but they still updated the part. It was a very common issue with the 355 where they would have these things.

It's one of the things where if you have like an early 355, you'd want it taken care of. but I've never heard of it being an issue with these. But yeah, okay, our trust I Trust our local guy to do the uh, the resurfacing and things. But as far as diving into the heads themselves, I really would rather go with Daniel suggestion with the Florida guy.

so these are gonna go to Florida and then my 599 is going to go back down to Texas That cluster thing really gotten bad and now it's showing zero miles when it starts acting up. So it quits counting miles and it goes back to being a brand new car. Wow! The guy in in Texas that did the mail conversion. He's seen it a few times because he goes out and Parks the cars after the man conversion out in the sun in Texas and he's seen it a couple times.

I've been able to fix it like he can take apart circuit boards and things. so I've heard of it before. Okay, so don't don't get angry I'm taking a question. Okay, all right.

well, thanks a lot wizard. Well I I guess I could go right I have the keys? Yes Bill no I have to I already have the key. you were running with it. Well, you're a very fast man.

I can run fast for a short distance. It's okay. Well What? That's not a bill? That's the oxygen sensors. Yeah, those are the old ones off the Aston Martin I mean they look old but I guess you don't really know if they're bad or not.

see Ford Ford Okay, so you cut these off just to make them easier to remove from the old ones? Yes, yeah. Okay, so here's let me get those out of your way. Okay, we have two bills. All right.

So my buck oh this is the S and I was gonna say if it was 1800 for a battery you might be ripping me off. so I know. Okay yeah, so for 276 dollars so 1 100 for the oxygen sensors we did order those OEM Aston Martin even though it says Ford yeah I just I didn't want to have to do this over again. Yeah.
option sensors I don't play around with sounds good and then the battery. Big expensive battery but uh, there's a grand total 21.84 Good day for you. Yeah, that's not too bad. All right.

Well I'll pay the man and the damage. Can continue with B12s but at least two are back. Two are back. Oh the lovely My Baca is back in service I Really do enjoy this car so much.

it does use a lot of fuel though. so I'll stop for gas and then we can head right back to the carnages because he already has the transmission out of the 645. it is officially dead. Well I'm back and I'm straddling the prize here.

Ninja, You worked very very quickly. Yep, got it done. So new from BMW These are like five grand, right? A little bit more than that. Yeah, so that made sense to buy a whole car.

And the kit didn't come with a lot of things like the drive shafts that's an important thing. flywheel Yes, the shifter and for the clutch does come with the kit, but maybe I didn't need it. What do you think you did need it? Yeah, it was pretty worn out. It was original.

Okay, yeah right there. yeah. I was having some fun I've interrupted the car Ninja's video though. he does a much deeper mechanical dive on it if you want to check it out.

Uh, you can watch the cart ninjas video but looks like I need to get the M6 over here, Huh? Yes! And if I bring one M car then another M car should probably go or it used to be an M car. Yeah, not anymore. there's a hole being. Doug Thank you so much for watching.

I'm commenting before I know the end outcome, only a minute or so into the video….but you don't need to "kill" the 645ci/650i(didn't catch what model it was lol)…. just swap the trans' between them, put that manual ZF S6 into the M6, and then put the SMG II into the "lesser" 6 Series….then resell the lesser 6 😅

Edit after watching more: dude…..swap the damn transmissions and save the damn 645! 65k miles and you want to part it out? What are you nuts? Lol…. I understand you'd probably make more money parting it, but if you put the SMG II into it, it'll have an "M6" specific trans, as the 645 and 650's only were available with the SMG, not the SMG II….minus that ZF you're stealing for 8k, which you could've bought everything separately for less, so I don't understand why you're doing this…. unless you're trying to be like Whistling Diesel and just tearing up perfectly fine driving and able to be enjoyed vehicles for the "views"…. which, if is the case, is pretty disgusting….hell …swap the trans to the SMG II and give the car away to one of your subs, that would be better than stripping it.

Edit #2…..or better yet, you could've just bought the correct E9X M3 ZF 6spd manual you ACTUALLY needed for half the price or less, instead of a whole car, with a transmission you literally can't use without serious modifications to the bellhousing (literally specifically listed where you bought that conversion kit)
