For longevity, one of the best things you can do to these cars is to vacuum and leaves, pine needles, etc out of the frame rails and then saturate inside the frame rails, inside the bumper shock channel areas, and along every seam beneath the car with Fluid Film. Yes, it'll smell like you're on farm, but it gives excellent protection against rust.

They did away with the 4 as in 744 for the sedan and the 5 for the 745 as in the stationwagon. There are in fact cars with these numbers on them even though they are not in the series as per standard. It will still tell you if its a 744 or 745 in your ownership- registartion form. Atleast here in Sweden. As well as if you look it up in an online registry. The differences between the 760 and the 740 are many and all the weird acronyms GL, GLE, GLT and so on was frankly something of a debate point when i was a kid. Since like 80% of all the families had these cars in one shape or the other. So as kids did before internet we would argue which one was the "best" in person. I still have no clue.
