I know this is an older video, but I want to share this, as I just watched for the first time.
Hoovie if you ever happen to read this, you might find this story entertaining.
So for this year 2023 I sold my truck to get out of a loan (a 2019 Nissan Frontier) and bought an 03 Hummer H2 in Yellow, people may judge that choice, but ever since I test drove one (in 2012) I've wanted to own one, and that is my favorite color.
I loved that thing to death, we got almost 2ft of snow when I had it and it was a tank. I owned it for 16 days (no loan)…..
Then the dealership was forced to buy it back due to the discovery of a significant safety issue that branded the title, there was a huge hole under the drivers feet (8in x16in), and it's only by chance that I didn't fall through. The dealership tried to do their best to fix their F-up (provided a loaner while they tried to see if it could be repaired), but after a month they finally admitted they needed to buy it back.
I unfortunately went a moment without a vehicle because of this (though work was within walking distance and winter was over), but I managed to replace it with a 2000 Ford Excursion (Lariat) 4×4, for much cheaper than It should of been.
It's not the 7.3 but the 6.8 v10 and it's 3 years older than that H2 but it was very well cared for, so it's in good condition. It's not perfect, but service is managable.
I'm not sure how far this will go, and it might sound goofy, but my plan is to eventually repaint it as the current white paint has seen better years.
I'm thinking it'd look great with a three tone, semi camo paint job with red on top, green center, yellow base and wheels and some decent decals to flush it out. As it's truely a Dinosaur.
Suburban everyday all day
I have a 2000 Excursion 4×4 Limited 7.3 I bought in 2012. It had just over 220,000 miles when I bought it. We now have 330,000, I have a company vehicle I drive daily, which is why it has 330k instead of much more. Worst mileage I ever got was 11MPG pulling 8k load into the wind. It’s nice that we can go on long trips & not have to fill up as much, we could easily go 600 miles without filling up. More than I could say about our bladders.
Best cars ever the Ford Excursion is a beast
Given the C.A.F.E. (Corporate Average Fuel Economy) that uses the total footprint of a vehicle (track x wheelbase), trucks have gotten bigger rather than absolute fuel economy getting better.
In my 2000 Excursion that was criticized at it's introduction as the Ford Valdez, my V10 gets just only a bit less fuel economy at about 14 miles to a US gallon of gasoline on the highway. And, even with a 2 inch lift, I look up at new stock F150s.
So that is 23 years of fuel economy research and application?
i agree with the chairs thing
Those things are definitely getting hard to find everyone made them into bro dozers
Needed a 6.2
8 full-size doug demuros!!! 😂😂😂 i cant imagine 8 dougs in one excursion…
This is the spiritual successor of the 1996's Ford Bronco.
Those bad boys hard to find
Love my 2005 Limo version
People like you chasing a penny for these videos, are the reason they are now $35k!!
