I WAS A PROUD VAN MAN, I'D BUY ANOTHER… EVENTUALLY ππ½ππ½π
That center console is from the conversion company. My grandpa had the exact one. So thankful for this video. I spent so much time as a kid and my grandfather's van. Forgot what it looks like until this really thankful for this video.
I built conversion vans in the 1980's. These were like 30-40k in the 1980's, that was a lot. They were the most luxurious vehicles at the time. They didn't have VCR's, they had VCP's. They could play VCR's, they couldn't record.
Those of us who couldn't afford the real conversion vans would buy the plain Jane ones and convert them how we wanted: carpet, beds sinks, etc… The sky was the limit. Really much harder today, in today's market…
We had a mint one of those when I was a kid. Dad skidded sideways into a deer once and backed into the rear door before he traded it for a rusted out square body which made no sense to me. Those vans were cool
Those arenβt led
Turn that beast into the Turtle Van!!!!
I grew up with a 1970 Chevy van. While it wasnβt a conversion, it was a great family vehicle. I currently have a 93 Buick Roadmaster Wagon with the TBI L05 (I believe itβs the same engine thatβs in your conversion van) with almost 200k on it. My mechanic said; βoh, itβs just getting broken inβ, when I told him the mileageβ¦ lol
Weird. My family had the same van living in Dallas and we'd go to Colorado Springs every autumn. Those were the day's.
I had one exactly like that one only white with gold stripes. I miss that van.
Very cool van. I find it hard to believe that it has such low mileage. And they didn't have "LED's" in the headliner, they had incandescent bulbs. Lol. π€£
The best. I heard some where even class a pop tops
I regret not getting this van as my first car when I was 18
Me & my wife owned a 1984 Chevrolet Tre Tech van conversion. van it was a beautiful color a two tone red & cream color it had a 350 v8.
It was great for the kids we had four and it had a TV with with VHS for the kids to watch.
Too bad many of those has POS camshafts that fail.
I had a 1988 model it was blue. It was my Husband's dream. So glad π we were able to get it before he passed of cancer…Brings back such great memories….
The body style is awsome looking just update everything elts spoke rims update all yhe interior and engine that would be the best van ever!
