A 1999 Landcruiser saved mine and my girlfriends life. We slid sideways on black ice into oncoming traffic. We changed the rear axle, and drove it to Chicago from Wyoming. My girlfriend and I are no longer an item, but I bet the Landcruiser is.

The snorkel will totally save ingesting water into the engine (= good night engine!!) on a water crossing like you did. Unless you use a genuine Toyota air filter that are hydrophobic. I tested my genuine Toyota air filter against a cheap generic. The latter was better described as a sieve, the genuine is actually designed to be washed, and it can be used as a bucket, literally!
Some have noted that a snorkel has actually decreased fuel efficiency, if one could ever put landcruiser and fuel efficiency into the same sentence 😂. Thirsty buggas
