I think the reason why the Prius engine job is more expensive than that of the Porsche is because it’s a hybrid and has a lot more electronics that need to come off and get recalibrated to work with the new motor and all of that stuff takes time and patience to do correctly. Whereas the Porsche is gasoline and while it does have complex electronics that are linked to it I suppose that it’s slightly less complex than that of a hybrid car. I know for a fact that if you ever have to replace a generator on that Prius it is over 10 hours of labor to get the transfer case apart to get to it, and it’s a huge undertaking on that car. Scotty Kilmer had a video on that in fact in which I guess his cameraman’s wife had a Prius with a bad generator and Scotty discovered that the book time was many thousands of dollars in labor to fix that problem
