Zzzzz
actually Audi calls all of their hatchback versions of their cars – Sportbacks.
i think what would in theory be a good way to define a coupe would be a two door car with a sloped rear end or a two door vehicle with a hatchback.
the key here is it has to be a two door vehicle which is not a convertible nor a supercar lol
Sorry mate but you're wrong. A coupé (accent on the "e", BTW) actually IS a car with a sloping roof line, regardless of the number of doors, whether you like it or not. This definition – as much other original car terminology – comes from the pre-car days of horse-drawn coaches.
Then, as MOST of the coupés in history of cars have been two-door, people (who didn't know the history of car) started to think to a coupé as just a two-door car.
There are – or have been – four-door coupés as like as there are – or have been – two-door sedans. A few examples? The Sixties/Seventies Rover P5 (google it) was available as a 4-d sedan or as a 4-d coupé. Look at Fifties Ford Popular: it's 2-door and you surely won't call it a coupé, uh? German brands throughout the Fifties right up to the Eighties usually sold 2-d versions of their sedans alongside the 4-d versions.
Also why on earth is car manufacturers calling 4 doors cars coupe. Pls for the love of god sake stop calling 4 door cars coupes like stop.
My sister has this same car and I don’t fit in the rear seats
Cadillac set the standard – Coupe de VIlle = 2dr, Sedan de Ville = 4dr (and I am pretty damn sure the Coupe de VIlle had more than 33 cu ft interior space)
Bring back this series
You couldn’t find four door coupes from the past? Remember the Rover P5B 3.5 coupe? It was a four door in the 60s and 70s. Aside from that you’re totally correct, the bmw and the Mercedes four door coupes are both useless and ugly.
Even though I drive a BMW X6 Sports Activity "Coupe" – which I would never refer to as a coupe myself even – I had a good laugh! Thanks Hoovie!
The 1962 Rover P5B coupe was a 4 door. I could never figure out why it was called a coupe.
Coupé, there I said it 😆 but those cars aren't coupés
Remember when Porsche named an electric car “turbo”? We are officially living in an era where some car makers are doing whatever they can to destroy car culture.
Not bad Hooves. You can pull off the news style vid. Try it in the style of "the soup" for fun.
Trade in that lambo for a 1m instead of that Ferrari… maybe u can make some money off the 1 series while your at it!
