You made the mistake to buy afacelift. The 4.4 first generation is superb. change the trannioil , treat it nicely when its cold , dont worry bout the pixel-failueres , shut up, — And then again Hipsters and old German Limousines just dont get along. Buy a Tesla ! Loser !
How can you spend so much money on something so terrible
dude, if you think a 7 is junk, no matter what you say, your full of shit. – bmw 7 owner (3x)
I’m in the UK and have a 740i E38 and I love it. A few issues but nothing major. It’s on 140k miles and drives like a dream.

I'm glad I live in Australia where thay made good reliable cars that go for years and when something goes wrong are simple and cheap you fix any mercanicly handy person can do themselves
I have the 6 cilinder version since more than 15 years and never had any issues . The 8 cilinder models have more problems it seems. The car still has that typical smell even now . Lovely car
Before the E38's I drove the Jaguar XJ6 series 3 which I adored with a passion. It got stolen and I went for late model E38 low mileage one owner car with 90k on the clock After 150k , the electronic gremlins rendered the car unfixable and it got scrapped . Then another 2.8 E38 impeccable history and that swhen the fun began . With my valuable guitars and amp I parked the thing in a dark side street and wen to the cinema . Couple of hours later Came back and to my horror , the windows were all open , the doors unlocked and the headlights and alarm going berserk .A miracle , that my beloved guitars wernt stolen . Then same thing happened again on motorway in fast lane in the rain and the windows opened again all by themselves and would npt go back up The monitor packed up as water shorted out the window switches on the doors and the silent clock started to jabber away in German and would not shut up . That car was scrapped as was told by BMW , was too old to fix . Another scrapyard sale ensued and by that time I saw sense and imported a late V12 series 3 Jaguar from Japan , which I still have to this day and no problems . Should never ever have gone for a lousy BMW and stuck to Jaguars best .
Right. As if Mercedes is any better… 😆😆
Mercedes W140s are absolute basket cases!!
crappy biodegradable wiring harness, plastic radiator etc…
Only 20 years old, expecting power window problems and falling headliners? No thanks, a 20 year old Lexus with alot more miles wouldn't have those problems.
