Hey man, what's the retail on one of those more than you can afford pal supra buddy this, i think you're gon na be sad. When you see and remember this is the buy receipt on the supra 3750. Those days are done. That's absolutely insane welcome.

Newbies garage, the dumbest automotive channel in all of youtube, and today we're going to talk about the cars that got away. For me, there is one big massive whopper that has kept me up at night for many many years and it was reignited recently when i saw the fast and furious supra cell at barrett-jackson las vegas for half a million dollars this mark iv supra that i saw Nine years ago, in the repo row at a dealer auction back when i was a car dealer, it sold for less than four thousand dollars, and to this day it is the car that got away. But after barrett-jackson i kind of connected to the dots and realized the person that bought it is somebody that i know very well. I messaged him and discovered that he actually still owns the car.

He bought a car for me not that long ago, a few other cars over the years, so we're actually going to go visit it. But over the years there have been a lot of cars that i sold too soon or cars that i didn't buy, but nothing bigger than the supra. Some crazy deals that i got back well almost 10 years ago, a techno violet, e36 m3 for only 500.. Now i had a bad head gasket, it was in pretty rowdy shape, but it ran and drove, and i ran and drove it to the junkyard.

Actually urination bob's, the one who i sold it to and he didn't chunk it. Thankfully he decided well, it can be saved, so i actually sold it as is as a project to somebody, so that car is still alive somewhere. I bought a 66 porsche 912 for only six thousand dollars sold it for only nine thousand dollars. That car also ran and drove it's a little rusty underneath, but actually a nice presentable car.

That's probably worth thirty thousand dollars. Today, a jeep grand wagoneer eighty thousand miles mint condition. I bought it for only forty five hundred bucks in 2009 sold it for uh. I think eight thousand dollars, which was a big profit uh, but nowadays that's probably worth what 35 40 000 so many examples, even in youtube land.

The recent cars that i've owned in youtube in the last five years, shooting way up in value. Where are you going to find another clean title: 80, 000 mile acura nsx for 30 grand never ever again, ferrari 355 burned to the ground, but i bought that car for, like fifty thousand dollars this car for thirty five thousand dollars. There's so many examples out there and, as i scrolled through old photos of my dealership of cars for sale and saw the prices that i was selling, that it just makes me wonder, it must be, must be inflation or i don't know because cars used to be Way, cheaper trucks used to be way cheaper and we're living in a completely different world. But when i'm scrolling through those photos of old listings, i found the auction photos that i took that day of this bank, repo, toyota supra and it was in very, very rough shape.
But it had a big turbo under the hood. It didn't run a manual transmission and the body was in pretty decent shape. Originally, it was a red car but then painted gray on the outside, but the engine bay was still red, its original color and it sold for 3 000 and something at the dealer auction, and i called a few people knowing that they would want this car. They hadn't called me back yet until after it sold, but i remember when the hammer went down.

I was so mad at myself, but dealers were all around me wondering what the heck was. Somebody paying that much for this old toyota with a bad motor they assumed because it didn't run and moments later. I got a phone call from a client who wanted the car and they were willing to pay eight thousand dollars for it. So i freaked out, i actually got a hold of the buyer before they could take it off the auction.

I said: hey, i want to buy this thing right now. You can make a quick profit. What do you want to sell it to me for five grand? No six grand no seven grand they rejected seven thousand dollars almost doubling up that day. So well, i let the car go.

But little did i know that the person who got it well, he sort of bought it for his son and he still has it to this day and it's been an incredible transformation. So we're going to head up to hutchinson kansas here a little bit about an hour away or 50 miles to see this supra transformation a car. I haven't seen in almost 10 years and i guess well, we should probably take the ferrari. It's been on the lift for months, but it actually started right up.

It moved right here, so the good exercise for my ferrari, which is definitely less than most people, can afford pal. Here we are look at that and look at this car. It's sat on the lift for months and absolutely no problem, it's all faithful and i'm saying that during carmageddon month, so i'm being very, very bold here, but holy moly, look at that and there's abdallah how's it going how's it going we've known each other for a Very very long time, uh you've bought a couple of cars from me, including that one, but we have never connected the dots on this supra in all these years, which is what's that buddy this, i think, you're going to be sad when you see and remember. I remember this is from mid-america auto auctions, which is long gone, they've sold out a couple of times since, but this is the buy receipt on this supra 3750.

Those days are done. That's absolutely insane, and i was the next bidder, so probably at 3, 500 or 3 600.. I was the bitter and you were there. What i don't realize is how young you were.

You was about 14 or 15 years old, 15 years old, with your dad at the dealer option bidding on this yep and he outbid me. I was the next person and then finally, the people that i had called, who i thought would want. This thing called me back: there like buy it, buy it buy it. So i actually got a hold of your dad and i offered seven thousand dollars.
You could have made two grand right off the bat yep and you didn't take it. I didn't you were able to talk your dad into keeping this thing yep and it's it's the same, color same exact color, so you didn't repaint it. Obviously it has a carbon fiber hood now, but the hood, the spoiler, the whole interior. We redid it 37.50 here i'll, give this back to you.

That's quite a memento there holy moly. This is cheaper than tavaresh's supra way cheaper. This was 20 grand, but i don't remember it being like this. I remember the interior just being absolutely destroyed wow, so you redid the interior interior.

We did the whole engine bay, the wheels exhaust - yes, it didn't have a spoiler on it. I remember that so what's going on under the hood, because i remember it, it didn't run right, no did not run, the ecu was stolen off of it, but so the engine was free. It was turning, it was, but when we got it running it started smoking. So, under the hood's, pretty pretty nice good old, 88 wow yeah, it had a big turbo on it before, but not that goodness gracious.

So you have an all-new drive training. I want you to drive, train yeah. Did you do it all? Did it take a period of time? I imagine you're a kid saving up money. As you went right, oh yeah, about a year, i did have an n a super at the time, so i was enjoying that while we were working on this one - and i have my own wizard - you know, but you've got to run into it now so from Uh basically, bank repo supra auction turd - that was three thousand seven hundred and fifty dollars to this.

It's worth quite a bit more than my hoopty ferrari. Well, you definitely need to line them up and do the more you can afford thing. I mean for sure that'll be awesome for sure yeah that fast and furious super for half a million bucks, incredible huh. It didn't have any of this non-turbo automatic made to look like a stick and it brought a million dollars because it was about the stock car.

Oh hello, there we go. Did you uh burn that cd in high school? Yes - and it still is yes now, since you are driving this one that then the one at barrett-jackson brought quarter million or half a million yeah. This should be worth at least half because you just rode in the other one, but this one you're driving. So i think you're overvaluing the value of me farting in a seat.

I'm sorry, i'm sorry. It makes the noises 178 000 miles on it. Yeah on the body of dimensions, fully yep: this is the car that got away man, i'm glad you got it, but it's the one. That's kept me up at night all these years, so it's got a big turbo right, yep, so eight millimeter we need.

We need to get in, we need to get kind of deep in order there. It is yep. Second, second gear is the best okay, so disable the ac. When you start driving hard.
No, it's ac is flashing. Like it's broken, oh then, i guess it does. I just broke it. You did sorry another one bites.

It's not it's armageddon man, another movie's. I told you that turbo big turbo once it's smooth as it goes. That's that's impressive. So what is the rough wheel horsepower in this one? Around 500? It's on a low of low yeah low boost yeah.

Well, your hooptie fleet has grown quite a bit over the years, so we might as well uh take a look there's one for sale right that i maybe we'll we'll talk about it, we'll talk about it! Yeah! Oh come on mine. Third, i just stalled it. Sorry! It's a toyota soaking handle gon na handle a movie. It can handle the hooves.

Okay, you're, wonderful! Well, i only broke the air conditioning of ella yeah, not bad good old carmageddon, but this was the car that you were trying to sell me or trade me trade, your favorite gallardo. But oh. If i kept that guard another six months, i would have got another 30 grand or so, but this one is your third supra force it third yep third super, but it's a right hand, drive yeah, twin turbo. Six-Speed car just has basic bolt-ons, nothing special.

Okay, still a twin turbo car, so how much man for whom i'm thinking around 60 grand six okay, but that's just the movie price! Anyone else is more so wonderful! I guess we're not making a deal today. Uh! I don't think so! That's a little out of my league, but i am, i am seeing my old porsche you're, not selling that back today. Right! No all i want to do. Is this one thing just just one thing: oh, that smell they smell so good.

Don't they oh that leather? I do miss this car. I sold it to you for, like 32 grand it's worth somewhere around there, it's worth a lot more yeah, possibly it's worth a lot more more than probably what that entire truck is worth. So you could sell that to me really cheap yeah, yeah dummy and solid what year is the lightning it's an 0-1 speaking of fast and furious. 90.

000 miles. 90. 000 miles. 50.

000. Well, it's been fast and furious a little bit. It's been yep yep they're. Getting harder to find yeah all right how much for whovi! I do believe that you got one of my old trucks, the red lightning from car issues, for way less than that i did.

But that was four years ago and the farm market has changed. The car market has changed, see now we're talking business. You got the keys. I do, let's take a look yeah a little nicer than the red one.

I still do yep, good god. Okay, it's got the hoovey movie uh exhaust system on there. I i don't know about that. Why do you say that? Is it loud and annoying? Is that what you're saying it's so loud that, if something's wrong with the engine, you won't be able to hear it? Oh okay, i'll take it all right.

You could go get some if you want okie dokie. It's been a few years since i had mine yep. I had that dakota rt, which you didn't have near. The romp is a this thing: whoa supercharged 5.4.
They all aluminum in these yeah. So basically this sort of went into the ford gt. It got sort of different version, but but pretty much the same engine exactly and you get it in a pickup truck for no money. The four gt is like 300 000 manual transmission and obviously amazing car, but just let the wizard do that for you right, you've done other swaps, okey-dokey, pretty fun truck very fun truck now you know now.

You know why i told you 18 o'clock. Yes, you know. There's probably not 18.5 worth of fun feels like about 10 grand worth of fun. Oh yeah, i don't know about all yeah.

I think 10 grand is plenty of fun. It's a supercharger! Now now, if this was a urination bob vehicle, uh-huh you're a euro agent, oh you're, really jealous don't mix it up, yeah! Okay, maybe you could get it for ten thousand, but i'm not urination. Okay, euro asian, oh, don't make sure. Well, it is the one that got away that supra as sad as i was almost 10 years ago to miss it and then thinking about it constantly, i'm glad you got it.

You took that ball way further down the line than i would have at the time. It'd be gone, i i would have just flipped it. So that's great! We need to talk about this off camera, though, because your price went up when the camera turned on, which is man i don't know, i think it went down when the camera. I don't think so, we'll talk about it.

I appreciate you showing me the car and uh your hooptie fleet. Well, it's not really hooptie fleet, like the gtr i'll, just totally skip that car gtr is okay. Thank you for watching hahaha. Do it again?.

He said those days are gone, lol those days never existed 🤣 he got lucky at an auction which I am surprised. I was actually looking to buy a supra back in 2003ish and prices were in the 40k range. Same price as an older nsx lol. Ended up getting an 04 sti for 44k. That's canadian mind you but you can do the conversion on Google. Should have gotten the nsx lol.

I also looked at a type r Acura for like 12k canadian back in like 2006 Good luck finding that deal now lol
